Biosphère
http://biosphere.ec.gc.ca/
Originally built as the US pavilion for the 1967 World Expo, the Biosphère
was covered by an acrylic bubble that burnt away in 1976. Now the massive
geodesic dome contains a museum that is aimed at educating people about
the environment and global warming. In the 10 years since its opening
in 1995, Environment Canada's Biosphère has been a showcase for
environmental education focusing on climate change, and the sustainable
development of the Great Lakes - St Lawrence ecosystem. |
