The Plains of Abraham: Quebec City
http://www.ccbn-nbc.gc.ca/_en/index.php
The site of many clashes for supremacy between the French and British
Empires, the Park is the scene of the 1759 Conquest, which changed the
fate of North America. Apart from its historical past, the Park is to
Québec what Central Park and Hyde Park are to New York and London:
a city park of outstanding value, the lungs of the city. Acres of meadow
and grassy knolls, decked with flowers or covered with snow, are there
for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Muse de Civilization

You will be delighted with the permanent exhibit -Encounter with the
First Nations- an exhibit that goes far beyond the usual folklore and
clichés that often conceal the realities of Aboriginal life. A
splendid 11-meter long rabaska (birch bark canoe) built by the late Cesar
Newashish of the Atikamekw Nation is on display along with a great number
of Amerindian and Inuit garments that deal with past and modern Aboriginal
identity.
Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec

In 2005, the Musée acquired the Brousseau collection of Inuit
Art. This extraordinary collection includes works from throughout the
Canadian Arctic: Baffin Island, Kitikmeot, Kivalliq (Keewatin), Nunavik,
Labrador and the Northwest Territories. See brilliant sculptures, original
drawings, prints, ethnographic pieces, and jewellery. Québec collector
Raymond Brousseau spent almost 50 years amassing this collection. A visionary
and art lover, Mr. Brousseau was able to acquire remarkable pieces from
famous artists.
