Grand Nova Scotia Cruise
8 Days ~ 7 Nights
Nova Scotia - Quebec - Prince Edward Island
Nova Scotia is surrounded and shaped
by the sea, imagine how it will shape your life! Halifax is bursting with
seacoast traditions, from old world cultures to lively neighborhoods brimming
with intriguing boutiques. In 1885, Alexander Graham Bell and his family
arrived by boat from the Strait of Canso. They fell in love with Baddeck
and built a home on Beinn Bhreagh, as well as the original Bell Laboratory.
Charmingly sited on the shore of Cape Breton's inland sea, The Alexander
Graham Bell National Historic Site was the summer home for Bell and his
family. Don't miss a tour of the displays which are comprehensive in scope;
among them are of course telephones, but also a 60-foot reproduction of
the HD-4, which was an outgrowth of Bell's early flight experiments with
man-lifting tetrahedral kites. Drop in on Green Gables, home to the author
of Anne of Green Gables on Prince Edward Island, or experience state-of-the-art
exhibits at Founders Hall, an interactive museum that describes the history
of Canada. The true architectural jewel of downtown Charlottetown is the
majestic St. Dunstan's Basilica. Adorned by three copper spires visible
virtually anywhere in the city, the church adds to the Victorian splendor
of the downtown core. In the remote archipelago of the Îles de la
Madeleine you will find a rich French culture, peppered with amazing arts
and crafts galleries, horse drawn carriage rides; with historical tours
that illuminate the Acadian history of the islands, and a fascinating
Seal Interpretation Center, where you can learn all there is to know about
these wonderful creatures. Sit back, relax and revel in the natural beauty
and wildlife that populate this lovely passage.
